Pyron students and the 2017 Solar Eclipse

Please share with your child the following info before Monday:
At no time between 11:40 and 1:15 should any student attempt to view the eclipse without protective glasses provided by the school. On Monday morning, teachers and staff will be educating students about the eclipse, viewing procedures, and precautions. We need all parental help to emphasize the importance of safe viewing. Project Lead the Way - click here for more information

Pyron Elementary is proud to announce that Pyron students will be the first in the River Valley to utilize Project Lead the Way (PLTW) curriculum. Our students will have the opportunity to build confidence in STEM subjects through activities, projects, and problems that will spark their interest in math and science to lead to a lifelong passion.

Giving our students early experiences in STEM helps them feel comfortable seeking solutions to new problems, connecting lessons to the world around them, and discovering how to employ critical thinking. A solid foundation of skills such as these puts students on an early path to success, from classroom to career.

PLTW modules are aligned with the Common Core State Standards and Next Generation Science Standards. To read more about PLTW and the modules used in the classroom visit www.pltw.org or click on links below. Teachers and administrators are also available for any questions.

Pyron is igniting imaginations and leading the way!
