It's a great day to be a Clarksville Elementary Panther CUB!

Panther Palooza

Saturday, January 25, Clarksville Elementary and Clarksville Middle Schools hosted Clarksville School District’s first-ever VEX IQ Challenge robotics competition.  The competition took place in the Panther Game Center with 31 elementary and middle teams from Clarksville, Russellville, Harrison, Van Burean, London, River Valley Homeschoolers, and Dover participating.

In a VEX IQ Challenge, two robots compete in the Teamwork Challenge as an alliance in 60 second long teamwork matches, working collaboratively to score points. Teams also compete in the Robot Skills Challenge where one robot takes the field to score as many points as possible. These matches consist of Driving Skills Matches, which will be entirely driver controlled, and Programming Skills Matches, which will be autonomous with limited human interaction.

VEX IQ Challenge Squared Away is played on a 4’x8’ rectangular field with 35 3” diameter balls and 7 cubes.  The object of the game is to score as many points as possible with your alliance partner in one of two ways: by scoring balls in or on cubes, and by moving cubes  to their respective scoring zones.

Clarksville Elementary robotics teams are

Turbo Bots: Kam Pipkins, Ryan Lensing, Drake Pearson, and Chase Cadman

Robo Pros: Ty Kimbrough, Braxton Tackett, Maddox Vergara, and Carson East

Gadget Girls: Samantha Montelongo, Lillian Schouweiler, Emma Wiggins—Bratton, and Jordyn Warren

Coaches are Nikki Patterson and Andrea Lensing.

CMS 6th grade team: Angel Yount, Kale Porter, Olivia Pipkins, Emiliano Zuniga, and Penelope Wilson
